01Our commitment
Beyond Zero Injuries is about making sure people go home safe, and that care extends to how people use this website. We want everyone, including people who use assistive technology, to be able to read our content, reach Bill, and use every feature.
02What we have done
- Structured pages with headings, landmarks, and descriptive link text so screen readers can navigate them.
- Full keyboard access, including the navigation menu, site search, cookie preferences, chat assistant, and back to top control, each with a visible focus indicator.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology.
- Color combinations chosen for contrast, and layouts that reflow for zoom and small screens.
- Animation that respects your device's reduced motion setting.
- Form fields with visible labels and clear error messages.
03Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet meet our target.
- Some downloadable PDFs, including case studies and the speaker sheet, were created before this site and may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We will provide the content in another format on request.
- Third-party services we link to, such as our online store, YouTube, podcast hosts, and LinkedIn, are outside our control and may have their own accessibility gaps.
- The chat assistant's answers are generated automatically. If a response is unclear or hard to use, contact us directly and a person will help.
04Feedback and help
If you have trouble using any part of the site, or need information in a different format, please tell us what you were trying to do and the page you were on. We aim to reply within five business days.
Email bill.sims@billsims.net, call (803) 600-8325, or write to Beyond Zero Injuries, 114 Centrum Drive, Irmo, SC 29063.
05Ongoing work
Accessibility is reviewed as part of every design and content change, and this statement is updated when the site changes in a meaningful way.
